Petite Tallboy

This is what I call my petite tallboy, it has the tallboy look, but it is only about 4 1/2 ft tall.
It is real mahogany, and a high quality made piece of furniture. Right now it is way too shiny and looks like grandma's old dresser, well it was someone's grandma's at one point. This petite tallboy is going to look like a real lady after I get done with her. First step take the hardware off and strip the varnish off the drawers and top. The body is going to be painted, but you will just have to wait and see what color.

You can see how much the stain had faded by looking at how dark the stain remained under the hardware.

This is what real mahogany looks like without varnish and stain. It took some sanding to get all the residual stain off. All this needs now is a clear wax to bring out the true color, who wants to ruin it with another colored stain?

So here it is painted. It is hard to get the real color to pop out when taking a picture in the garage, but it is called Duck Egg blue chalk paint.

I waxed the top and drawers with a dark wax. With the dresser being out of real mahogany I just had to leave some of it natural and not paint the whole dresser.
The hardware is being painted right now, so this is it without.

For some reason the blue in the picture is not coming out very well, but it is more blue than it is gray.

Yep this girl is keeping this piece!
